A simple and very practical guide that provides the necessary instructions for the facilitation of activities for environmental education. It is intended mainly for educators, who can use it as a working tool in both formal education (schools, institutes, vocational training centers, lifelong learning, etc.) and informal (leisure centers, education, community training, volunteer training, organizations, etc.). The guide is divided into five main thematic blocks aimed at teaching a selection of concepts, procedures and values that we consider useful in fostering the transition to a more sustainable society. Thematically, these blocks are organized sequentially: (1) Recognizing the environment and life needs, (2) Appreciating the diversity of life, (3) Learning to manage natural resources, (4) Detecting problems, (5) Considering trends. It is an extremely flexible guide that is easy to adapt to different contexts. Its approach is multi-disciplinary, with an emphasis on aspects of the physical, biological and social environment, and seeks to integrate different approaches (cognitive, instrumental, emotional), to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge. The Ersília Foundation has been responsible for the design and layout of the resource.
